Day 5. PCT 14.0 miles
Whew! What a big-view day!! We woke up from our little treed zone but not before Claire woke to another deer cruising too close to our tent and scared him off. There’s some big deer around here! Side note: I’ve twisted both ankles at least once so far (unlike me), and my body is really telling me about it today... in general, we are both hurtin! When we left our site, first stop was the waterfall just 0.2 miles South.

Big view coming up some switchbacks

No space to sit at the top for lunch?! Relax right in the middle of the trail!!

Complete with wind-blocking kitchen

Marmots chirping away

Marmots hanging out

Babe in all the colors

Mountain goat was here?

Ahhh! Snow crossing!

Whew! Claire barely made it...

Favorite picture all day!!!

I jumped in this lake two years ago!

Can you spy a Claire?

Stormy?

Or sunny? Weird weather...

Sunny it is :)
Next we climbed up and up into some more forest and really cool color purple stone.
Alrighty, time for he big views! There wasn’t too much to say about the hiking today other than the terrain was pretty tough (rocky, slabby, scree-y, and steep), the temperatures/cloud cover were undecided, ad it was really really scenic! Enjoy!

Wow, yeah today was pretty. My ears are a little sunburnt, and Claire and I are ready for town and town food and town lodging and more town food and really all of the things that town implies! Is after 10:00pm, bedtime!
Thanks for reading!
